You don’t always need to follow the recipe to the letter, and we say the same for Cake Break.
There are lots of ways you can add a little something extra to your event, but if you’re looking for a bit of party spirit, then why not mix up a few cocktails or mocktails to complement all that lovely cake.
The team at Drink Shop Do have even created a special Cake Break cocktail for us:
The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party
50 ml Hendricks Gin
12.5ml Cassis
20 ml Lemon Juice
20 ml Gomme (sugar syrup)
Instructions: Mix the above ingredients in a teapot, then pour through a strainer containing Earl Grey Tea. Serve alongside cake.
or you could try a delicious mocktail:
Shirley Temple
200 ml Ginger ale
A splash of grenadine
Maraschino cherries to garnish
And there are lot of other ways to make your event stand out from the crowd. You could think about holding your Cake Break in an unusual place such as on the beach or in the park.
Keen cake breaker Portia adds a vintage twist to her Cake Break,
“Our Cake Break is an old fashioned 1940’s themed tea and cake boogie-woogie. My tip would be to pick a theme you love and really got with it. Music, dress up, the works!”
The possibilities are endless, and as always we’d love to hear about your fun and creative ideas here at Cake Break HQ. Email us cakebreak@mssociety.org.uk or give us a call on 0845 481 1577 and share your Cake Break news.
